CrueFest - Live On-Line from Vegas

Had to post a brief message. I am enjoying watching the Crue rock Mandalay Bay in Vegas right now on-line, sort of a pre-party concert before we rock with them in Mountain View next week. Pretty fucking cool, actually.......

Back in 1995, I had the most glorious mega mullet one could possibly imagine. It had taken perhaps ten years to get it "just right". I freely admit this; I was a rocker and the mullet was my badge of honor. I babied it, buying only the best shampoos and conditioners and actually maintaining it on a monthly basis. My golden blond locks, "business in the front, party in the back", were the envy of many a follically-challenged man (and a good number of women, judging by how many actually would stop me to touch it). However, when my daughter was close to entering this world, I made the drastic decision to do away with childish things and enter manhood by shaving it off. Completely. I mean I was down to the skin, baby. It took some time to get used to and I tried a number of different styles before finally settling back to that basic of all guy's haircuts: cropped on the sides, spiky on top. My experimentation was limited to occasionally dying it jet black (or sometimes blue black, which was always interesting.....).

Now, 13 years later, it is time once again for a change. Something to commemorate the impending birth of my son. Something a wee bit more daring.....

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you, I present to you.....The D-Hawk. Not quite a Mohawk, yet something more than a Faux-hawk. Enjoy.

Random (or maybe not-so-random) Stuff

Got a wild hair up my butt this past weekend (or perhaps it's that supposed "nesting instinct" I hear so much about.....) and re-organized Devlin's "space" in our bedroom. Picked up a few things, moved some stuff around, set stuff up so it just works better. I think Amy is happy with the changes as well.

Devlin's Space - Re-Arranged

This coming Wednesday, Amy will hit the 37 week mark, meaning that *officially* Devlin is full-term; he could be born anytime between Wednesday and August 20th and be considered a full-term baby, nothing premature. It is sort of unreal to think in he space of either a few days or a few short weeks we will be welcoming our newest little addition. Sort of scary (I think Amy is getting more and more nervous on a daily basis.....), but also really quite cool. After several years of trying, we will finally be at the end. Or the beginning, depending on how you look at it!

Taking The Kid, i.e. Sloan, to my mom's this weekend. She will be hanging out for a week there in my hometown on something like a little vacation, helping my mom out at a week-long day camp, visiting my Grandfather, helping my mom with her horses, and attending at least one musical/play. It will be something of a welcome relief for us but she will be PISSED if Devlin gets here before she gets back. She is already highly annoyed with me that we are going to CrueFest next Wednesday, so I am going to have to get her several shirts to somewhat come close to appeasing her. Going to be funny going to CrueFest, too. I sprang for the "super premium parking" so we can park right in front of the doors at Shoreline (plus, we have aisle seats so Amy has quick access to the bathrooms if needed!). Gonna make a rather humorous sight walking in, this full-term pregnant chick and rocker dude here to see the Crue (although she is more interested in Buckcherry). While dropping Sloan off at my mom's, we will also take some time to have lunch with my friend Cat, which will be really nice since we haven't seen her for a few months. Will also be picking up a rocking recliner chair from my Grandfather's house for us to use with Devlin; will come in handy, to be sure.

Not sure what else to report. Did a bit of yard work this weekend, very domestic. Other than the aforementioned instances, it was a pretty lazy weekend, which was awesome. More to come.....
