A sad commentary about the employment - or rather unemployment - situation we are all currently still wading through:

As an additional comment: One of the readers who posted an online comment to this article stated the following:

"Failing banks, cash for gold, 18% real unemployment, deflation, empty storefronts...this isn't a recession, it's a depression."

I have been saying this since late last year. Consider yourself lucky if you are currently employed in California, let alone anywhere else in this country. The argument about helath care reform needs to be resolved so the government can focus on the real problem: Rampant unemployment and how to force/encourage companies to cease and desist their practice of layoffs to cover their asses before anything bad even gets close to happening.
